IERC’s ecology research projects are interdisciplinary and typically incorporate a significant field component into the study design.  Projects range from:

• high elevation stream and lake surveys for sensitive amphibians

• capture and tracking of carnivores to assess various life history parameters

• sampling of various wildlife species to screen for pathogens and conduct epidemiological studies

• and indirect monitoring of animals using samples such as scats and hair for detailed genetic and health analyses.
